16 years in the making and finally saved from development hell (probably because of clearing the Beatles samples featured on it) - Is the new Avalanches LP worth it? The answer is - Yes, It's really good. While their debut "Since I Left You" is such a tough act to follow, the very much long-awaited second album is still really worth getting. While the formula from the first album has been mostly kept (except with some guest spots from alternative hip-hop legends Biz Markie, MF Doom and Danny Brown and more), this isn't a bad thing as imagine if the Avalanches changed their style to polkacore or burpstep - there would be such an uproar!

While the first instalment clearly wins, the second one is still highly recommended. 8/10
