Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 by Thomas Bangalter (born January 3, 1975) and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (born February 8, 1974). Bangalter and de Homem-Christo were previously in the rock band Darlin' with Laurent Brancowitz. After Brancowitz left the group to join his brother's band, Phoenix, the remaining duo formed Daft Punk. On February 22, 2021, it was announced that they had disbanded for unknown reasons.

legendary duo, will always miss them. huge shame that the fifth album they were rumored be working on will likely never see the light of day.

Loved them more between Da phunk and the Homework/Musique vol. 1. They went their own mainstream road and weren't the DP I knew. It's fine. But I'm glad they at least left a pretty banger house album in the beginning of their careers

First, these guys were together since 1993 but they announced they are no more in early 2021...Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo...This double LP is a concept album that attempts to take the listener through several decades of musical experiences...I knew of these guys from their attempts to hide their mugs with the huge electronic type helmets they used while performing...Clever gimmick that became a trademark of Daft Punk...This 180 gram recording is nearly flawless and a joy to hear on any stereo system...Not knowing them I am in LOVE now with this album and the sounds they serve up...A real winner here...Hope they get back together at a later date...

They haven't retired, it's just a marketing stunt. Jay-Z has retired like 10 times. Everyone who panicked and paid $250+ for copies is going to regret it when they repress all their albums in 2-3 years.

Unfortunately, Daft Punk were highly influential internationally.

For now we've got all those mainstream artists with millions of downloads whose lyrics are sung by computers or robots - and some kids seriously claim (I have heard some of them say that, really, with my own ears) that their favourite autotuned artists' voices really sound like that... natural voices, you know... we live in the Age of Stupidity. It's just daft, isn't it.

Unlike KLF, who had outstanding singers with exceptional voices such as P. P. Arnold or Tammy Wynette (and KLF were amongst the first if not THE first to introduce trance to an unsuspecting audience...). Plus, they invented a certain kind of disappearing act.
