Nick’s Mancunian origins combined to a Paris based b-boy and funk background have provided him with a rare blend of music tastes, on which he draws to build his unique Souful and energetic sets that shake up any dancefloor : digging deep into the old school from Disco to Electro Funk, through to Deep House, Broken Beats, Techno Soul and far beyond. His dynamic yet smooth mixing skills, honed over the years have established Nick as one of the hottest djs in the French capital, a reputation he has maintained over the years since his first gigs in the mid 90s as warm up DJ at the infamous Queen Club in Paris. A reputed record collector and vinyl digger, he is an all-vinyl DJ and a true audiophile (he is also a freelance acoustics consultant), who prides himself in a relatively tight record collection of under 7000 pieces collected since 1983. With his position as city manager of 22tracks in Paris, he shares his love for music and music heads can go deep and discover the latest sounds with the Deep House and Global Sounds (with Da Vince) playlists he curates in Paris.
Today you can catch him every second Saturday of the month at his 8 year old Parisian residency, Mona, where he spins underground House and Disco alongside the guests he chooses such as Mike Huckaby, Red Greg, Brawther, Jeremy Underground, Daniel Wang, Chez Damier, DJ Nature, Volcov, DJ Deep, Prosumer, Atjazz or Karizma. The importance of corporal communication is important for Nick who is also a Tai Chi and Kung Fu instructor, and his idea is to put dance back into the center of the clubs. Close to the Paris dance scene, Nick encourages his crowds to connect and share the positive energy of dance via free classes or Vogue balls given at the start of his nights.
Outside of Paris and over the years, Nick has played in numerous venues and on festival stages across the world from Berlin to Saigon. For the future his ambitions are to continue sharing his love for music and dance, with his residency Mona crossing the borders to different European clubs. His music tastes will finally be put onto wax with the launch of a forthcoming label he will be curating to showcase the artists he appreciates, from the seasoned names to promising newcomers.
