It is wild that this record is still totally smashing dancefloors in 2019. Over 30 years goin!!

I'll have to search my basement for this, but IIRC, the listing was different from the pressing. Also, I played this in 1987, before it became a hit, so the issue year here is wrong, unless I had a promo and didn't know it, as 1987 was my second year DJing for pay.

The Agoria Remix is increbible. The vocal-break in the middle could be a little bit shorter

Indubitably the quintessential house track for any listener. It threw House music into a new era of creation and innovation. It brought chills in the 80s, 90s (especially 1997), and is still fresh almost 30 years later.

What the hell is up with the Peshay mix? sounds like he had a track lying around and just wacked some acapella bits over the top completely off tempo. I love most of Peshays releases but either he was feeling rather lazy or someone stitched him up with this one.

the "Kick the Pump Mix" by Derrick May (listed as May-Day) is almost like hearing him DJ live he hits the first synths multiple times like they are in a sampler pad. May then throws in some filter and the "ohh" sample from the vocals for a few min. The mix is aggressive and dramatic you know he's operating back there. Heavy use of delay effect and filters. At one point he stops it with a rub like he's got a finger on the vinyl (but then edits out the beat that he's behind). Really clever stuff, the full "we don't need a crowd" sample doesn't even show up until the 3 minute mark. It's a playful "re-edit" about 119 BPM, call it proto-deep house or slow techno either way move aside cause Derrick May is coming through...
