Interesting vinyl master with more emphasis on the lower and mid range, giving the impression of much less separation between the instruments - you’ll notice it almost immediately in how the lead and steel guitar are far less prominent in “Something’s On Your Mind”. Almost as though the rhythm section has been mixed to sound like a single organism vs a collection of instruments.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, in fact it suits the vibe of the album nicely, but I’m curious if all vinyl versions of this album are known to have a distinctly different master or if it’s something specific to these recent LITA pressings.

The low rating is strictly for the quality of the records. All in all, this set is lovely, however, 3 of the lps are warped, not so bad that they can’t be played, but they are noticeably warped. Sure, this happens, but on a pricy, limited, numbered set, you would expect dead flat records, or the guarantee of such. A week after I was denied replacement discs, my Leo Nocentelli finally arrived after waiting months and guess what? Also warped…
LITA you are slipping.

Pretty extensive package. Not sure I agree with the $100+ release price but these are the times I guess. Too bad this album does nothing for me.

Fantastic release, just the alternate takes, 7 inches and live show make it worth. Being cut at 45rpm also makes a huge difference in sound stage and bass response. Very quiet pressing but LPs 1 and 2 were a bit warped, there was also a milkish hue on the vinyl on side A but it didn't affect sound. It seems the records were packaged hot off the press without enough time to cool down?

Anyway, overall very satisfied but I'm requesting a replacement due to these cosmetic issues. Just for this I'm giving it 4 stars.

I already own the 2006 version https://www.discogs.com/release/6680502-Karen-Dalton-In-My-Own-Time (which has a better thicker Stoughton-type tip-on jacket) but this one just sounds much warmer and deeper.

I am not sure about the mastering source, it says "transfers" on the hype sticker, so it could be digital.
