Recommandations
Avis
- I love the presentation of this set. The two hardcover artbooks, the cassette and the casebound discs themselves all look and feel premium. The album itself, however, doesn't sound the best. The remaster was a bit of a crapshoot and sounds generally muffled and compressed throughout. The third disc with all the B-sides sounds spectacular, but I really hope they get an album as legendary as this sounding right someday.
- this is my listening experience related to the three vinyls: extremely rich and detailed sound. There is no hiss. I don't own nor have I ever listened to the original pressing released at the time, however I strongly recommend the purchase. Naturally the box is rich and has several interesting components such as the cassette, which I haven't tested yet. The quality of the external box and the wallet book in which to insert the vinyls is superb. For me, despite some not comforting experiences of other users, it can be said to be an excellent purchase, obviously for the real collector fan. Don't miss it.
- I agree with the other comments, the pressing is not great, lots of noticeable surface noise, particularly on Side B of my copy.
- Looking for just the notebook in the top left corner. If anyone has one they’re willing to part with let me know!
- Was so disappointed with the SQ of the album whereas the sound on the b-sides record was amazing.
Based on reviews on this forum, I sourced a NM UK 2008 NO DATA pressing and the difference is unbelievable-the best 3D imaging I have ever experienced on vinyl with terrific bass. If you adore this album, suggest getting a UK NO DATA pressing (1997\2008\2013) - A better pressing than my older OK Computer vinyl or my other Radiohead LPs, but it's still somewhat lacking in the mastering department. Mild pops here and there and the low end is somewhat muffled.
Even with the issues, this set still feels like a great value just based on how nicely everything is put together. This thing is HEFTY between the LPs, art book and casette, and getting the chance to have tracks like Man of War and Polyethylene on vinyl is simply too nice to pass up. - Side A to D not the best in terms of sound quality, mastering is lifeles, but E and F wow, are wonderful, very dynamic, great music
But honestly, Radiohead deserves a better pressing quality, XL always is a mess, lots of pops, cracks!!! I'm a big fan of Radiohead and Thom Yorke, all their vinyl pressings are a disaster, for example Suspiria, beautiful music but is ruined by the pressing
Please Mofi, AP, Intervention... give us quality Radiohead / Thom Yorke pressings!! - Can anyone help me out here? I have a copy of this box but the LPs are all Blue Marble color. Is this a thing they did?
