Avis
The product: Packaging is nice. Could have used some licensed artwork from the original product, but the art that was used is a nice homage. The blue/red split vinyl is cool and is dead quiet with no pops/clicks.
The material: The nostalgia factor is super high with this one. Great quality for old-school 8-but/arcade music. 45 RPM is probably unnecessary, but I guess was done because of the short run-time (less than 30 minutes total). Agree with another review that omitting the arcade and including Super C would have been a better move on Mondo’s part. Side B just sounds like a remix of side A.- Sounds great! Not much surface noise at all- track 2 was new to me, how have I never heard it before?? Definitely prefer the NES tunes to the arcade versions. Love the red/blue split idea, but on my copy it was executed somewhat sloppily.. Also glad they got the waterfall stage boss in the gatefold artwork. IMO this soundtrack is up there among the top OSTs for NES. It makes sense why it was released this way, but I would have preferred Contra NES on side A and Super-C NES as the B-side.
