Plays hard, dark, harsh tekno-acidik sounds. From ambient to hardcore through techno and electro. Beatmorphing is the key.
"What is beatmorphing?" she asked.
"It's the KEY!" he answered.

What a monster this record is! Crunchy, Acidic and relentless on The Damage Is Done, cold and metallic on Gamma Ray, industrial, broken and rather dark on the title track, all tip-top.
The pick of the litter is Cabin Pressure,... Voir l'avis en entier |

The Stave track is a bitch to mix: it has a breakbeat-y intro, then breaks into atmospherics, before introducing the kick back, but no longer on time/in sync.
Great little EP, other than that. Driving, grinding, metallic, industrial techno. |

As well as bits from the French dub of 1985 hit film Legend.

Twenty-three-and-a-half years on, this is still an outstanding compilation -- perhaps stronger than before, in fact. It covers such a wide range of moods, tempos and emotions and, if it was all about Attack Random in 1997 (it was hard to find...

Timely references to the series Dark, based in the fictitious German town of Winden, and to the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have originated.

Intentionally or not, Heckmann pays homage to Al Naafiysh with Juicy Beast. Robot dance à gogo!

Decent enough effort from the three Ts, yet it is Bloody Mary who steals the show, here, with a melodic, bubbly electracid number that works at home as well as on the floor.

Like Anodyne (4) - Untitled, this bears the note "The second of a series of 3 12”s." Now six days short of nine years later, it is probably safe to assume the last instalment will never come out -- although Praxis have a long history of missing catalogue...

Funny little record, this, packed with minimalistic Acid that goes nowhere and, therefore offers limited sonic interest. No 909 is much faster than the other tracks and still has a place in a set today.
The funny bit is the [i]"No. 2 in a... Voir l'avis en entier |

Eerie minimal-ish techno, this has subdued Acid lines in places, dreamy synth layers in others and driving, cavernous kicks throughout. Oizys is probably the stand-out track that will evoke dark rooms, dry ice and strobes, but they are all good, really.

A demo version of Dizze was played at (Belgian club) Boccaccio as early as 1992, probably off a tape. The version on this here pressing is more polished and less raw than that demo, but it remains a cracking rave tune, full of hoover and...

Popping a CD version of The Third Rebirth such as this one into a player that has audio spectrum visualisation makes it obvious why the track never enjoyed The First Rebirth's popularity, despite being perhaps a better track altogether:...

Yup, this, Manga Corps - The Hunter and Base Mobile & SP 23 - Expekt The Unxpekted are but the most obvious examples. The whole Network Repress and Curley Music catalogues are sourced from vinyl, not masters. Some of the source records had flaws that were reproduced on the represses.

This reviewer saw TC Brain's evolution, from warming up at Rave-Zone Montini in the mid-1990s to headlining some of the best raves in Belgium and beyond. Always friendly and approachable, humble even, TC has the sort of clean and precise techniques...

Monster EP that is likely to bring out the raver in most.

Gorgeous sleeve artwork, limited editions on coloured vinyl (often multiple variations too), A0 posters, impeccable mastering, a roster to give any self-respecting electro head a priapic hard-on, and that is before talking about the music. Vocoders,...

With this release, Seal Phüric moved somewhat further away from Acid and embraced industrial soundscapes more clearly. Both tracks on side A are ferocious and syncopated steam-hammer-like pieces that felt ahead of their time.

The Acid monster that is Wall Of Condusion is here mastered in double mono, instead of the kick in one ear and the 303 in the other, as is the case on the original Communiqué pressing.

Excellent Acidic techno EP altogether. Queen Of Babylon takes the biscuit, though, with a deep kick, a chiming melody and those two bubbling and bleeding Acid lines, all combined with Nikki Van Lierop's vocals from Inner Light -- which...

Slamming, uptempo dark techno with some industrial-tainted broken beats for good measure.
The vocals might be much for some, but it works in the mix, if played with parsimony. |
