Version 4 is the worst thing that could possibly have happened to Discogs.

I'm a (largely former) music journalist who was editor of Sorted magAZine, from 1996 to 2004.

I also DJ in London now and again as Girl (my nickname since I was 17), usually specialising in either old school EBM, retro 80s, industrial, electroclash or delicious mixes of these and other styles (some old sets).

I also have a real life job as an online communications consultant and am a very active trade unionist.

Wantlist:
I'm normally only interested in 12" singles for around UK£3 and LPs for around UK££5, unless I really want something or it's particularly rare. Obviously, postage from outside the UK is an issue.

If there's something in my sale list you want and you've got something from my wantlist, I might be interested in a trade. Please get in touch.

If you read Cosey's book, one of the reasons for the rereleases is because of the number of unofficial releases (often endorsed by one particular member with no right to do so) for which she, Chris and Sleazy received no income. They wanted to both make ... Voir l'avis en entier

Chris and Cosey (and Sleazy when he was alive) were furious about the bootlegs and, as is clear from what Chris says here: https://twitter.com/chris_carter_/status/1084028480231276544 (and what's in Cosey's book), they're still not cool with it.

The issue is that ALL bootlegs should be marked as such (I don't care about the issue of being available for sale). I checked the Red Ronnie release with Chris Carter and he said it's not an official TG release. All the early releases of "Journey Through ... Voir l'avis en entier

You might want to look at this - official TG releases were only those approved by TG (the organisation) not one member https://twitter.com/chris_carter_/status/1084028480231276544?s=19

In recent months, I've seen Peter Murphy, Killing Joke, Psychic TV, DAF and The Young Gods. You're absolutely right and it's telling how many support bands who are clearly influenced by that late 70s/early 80s period of innovation.

Anyone who thinks their early output is "noisy" should be forced to listen to "Just Drifting" over and over again. Their first three albums are incredibly varied and include a range of styles and sounds that avoid easy categorisation - basically spawning ... Voir l'avis en entier

Just on the way home from an amazing London gig. The band were fantastic as usual and, though physically clearly very frail, Gen's vocals were strong as ever. Tinged with sadness now it's over as this is probably the last. I've been at every London gig ... Voir l'avis en entier

That's not really true, DAF were, of course, hugely important. But it was Der Mussolini that helped start the whole sound, released in 1981, the same year F242 released 'Principles' bw the early version of 'Body To Body' and Die Krupps released 'Wahre ... Voir l'avis en entier

Eh, they did. Macbeth, Kapital, WAT, Iron Sky, Spectre and Also Sprach Zarathustra are all albums of original compositions (though two of them are obviously based on written works). They have as many albums of original content as albums of warped covers.

The album that revitalised the Manics. After three bad albums that saw them drop from the top of the charts to has-beens, recording what is effectively a sequel to The Holy Bible base on Richie's poetry was a great idea. Not only is this a brilliant ... Voir l'avis en entier

I only recently discovered them. I wasn't a fan of much rock/metal stuff in the nu-metal era, so I hadn't paid any attention. I recently decided to give them a spin and realised that they have little or nothing to do with that scene. A few years earlier ... Voir l'avis en entier

This is a truly odd release. According to Bill Drummond, who was there with the band, this introduced them all to new production techniques that would ultimately lead to the KLF, the Orb and Youth's psy-trance output. So it's best described as somewhat ... Voir l'avis en entier

The colour apparently ran out when printing the sleeve, so there are an unknown number of colour (versus black and white) versions. It didn't have a big run either - vinyl editions weren't popular towards the end of the 90s - so it's pretty rare anyway.

Not really true, the first two DAF albums weren't EBM, that sound only emerged on Alles Ist Gut in 1981 (and Der Mussolini in particular). In the same year, Die Krupps released the equally classic "Wahre Arbeit - Wahrer Lohn" (rerecorded in '89 as "The ... Voir l'avis en entier
