Please post your new releases here with availability info and locations to get copies.
Feel free to still post individual threads and discuss the releases, this merely exists as a pinned thread that will be upkept as new things become available and removed when old ones become sold out.
We're working to address some of the suggestions in the group with the limited tools given to us thru the forum and will be switching up the stickies to include some guidelines to keep this a place of mindful conversation and knowledge sharing.

Good idea - although I know that individual posts are still welcome, I always feel a bit uncomfortable 'spamming' discussion forums!

My label (7th Storey Projects) has got a couple of new vinyl-only releases out this week - they can be purchased directly from the labels webstore, or on Discogs via my seller profile:

The Invisible Man - The Journey:

    http://www.seventhstoreyprojects.com/the-invisible-man---the-journey-ep---7th-12008---limited-edition-12-vinyl-68-p.asp

    The Dark Arts Volume 2:

    http://www.seventhstoreyprojects.com/7th-12007---the-dark-arts-volume-2---limited-edition-12-vinyl-69-p.asp

There are also limited stocks available of:

    7TH 12002 - Aeon Flux EP
7TH 12004 - DJ Excel - Just When You Thought It Was Safe (only about 3 copies left)
    7TH 12005 - The Dark Arts Volume 1
    7TH 12006 - Exodus & Head Pressure - The Dread Killer EP

As well as some other choice bits from Sublogic Recordings, KVA & Ninety Two Retro.

    Cheers!

Keeping Vinyl Alive and Parallax Recordings join forces to bring you the "On 1 Crew" EP. It includes "Bad Dreams", a LTJ Bukem favorite from 1993, that samples a girl from the Alien 1 movie "She doesnt have bad dreams, she´s just a piece of plastic". Besides that the 4-track-vinyl includes a never released remix of the same track and two more tunes from 1994 and 1995 that never saw the light of day. The preorder page is now live on the webstore, complete with soundclips of all four tracks.

Many thanks to the On 1 Crew for letting us release this amazing music and making it available to everyone!

I'm really chomping at the bit for the next round of Scientific Wax releases. Can't believe it's been over a year since the last vinyl releases came out! I download Sci Wax radio shows like its my job, and from what Equinox says on the shows it sounds like they have a ton of material to choose from for vinyl. I'm just happy that 'Martian Surface' tune will finally see the light of day on vinyl ( hopefully soon).

In the meantime, along the same vein I picked up Rumbleton's 'Vibration Centre' which is wicked!

Yeah I mean going back to all the shows from last December (2014) onwards, there are tons of tracks mentioned as 'forthcoming soon' so I'm salivating thinking of how many of those might make it to vinyl. You heard three Vetoe?! Oh wow so you know one will be Scientific Wax, I've heard Retro mentioned a few times, maybe a Sci Limited? Although I have to admit the playing from label to the edge of record is odd and I always forget! Makes me feel dyslexic.

Astrophonica just announced a new Pre-order from sully. Its all really good deeper jungle like his jungle EP off Keysound. Cutting a record from the inside out was done back in the early days of radio broadcasting because the start of a show would be loud and robust covering a wide range of frequencies, with the theme music & the introductions, but would become "quieter" as the shows progressed through their schedule covering a narrower frequency range. They were 16 inch discs at the time though so the radius covered during play back was obviously greater than we have with the common 12/10/7's now. Some lathes aren't capable of doing it so it's IMO it's a great experiment with modern music, I think the "looking at the moon" is a great example of why that kind of cut still has a place too, for me bringing out some of the subtleties the melodic introduction of the song has to offer and perhaps sounding brighter due to it's position on the record.
  • Lixx over 8 years ago

^^OK good to know (on Sci Limited releases). I just have 1 and 2 of those and both play inside to outside. I'd love some of the others but people want too damn much cash for them! Incidentally I got mine as a set pair post release on ebay for $50, which is fair, not these jokers who want triple digits (in dollars) for them . But I digress...

    CRITERION RECORDS 009
✰ • ✰ GRAB YOUR COPY NOW PEEPS!!!
    BRAND NEW RELEASE!!! ✰ • ♫ •✰•♫

Vanguard of the Jungle, Tim Reaper is back with two new super tight rinse outs that will remind you of all things great about this genre and why it was and still is a game changer especially when executed by skilled producers the likes of Tim. We will first deal with a track with no name, simply called 'Untitled' setting a scene with the intro, a lush dreamy inter dimensional vision of dreamy synths that forms the base, a vast array of drums collide in harmony, the timeless amen break blends with the 'sesame street break' along with interludes of tribal percussion and deep progressive stabs, fans of early Logical Progression tracks will not be able to resist this.

    https://soundcloud.com/criterionrecords/tim-reaper-untitled

For 'Final Departure' Tim teams up with Charlie Turbo and MPathy for even deeper ethereal jungle sounds, fluttering far eastern pads dominate while the classic 'cold sweat' break underpins the melodies along with some deep subs and atmospheric drops, another slice of beautifully crafted golden era style jungle that you simply cannot miss out on.

It was Scientific Wax 21 (Dub One- 'Hot Sweat' and 'Tension' both were played) and Scientific Wax Retro 7 (One of the tunes had that Platoon movie sample: "What y'all know about death?", the other had the Twilight Zone sample: "This is the dimension of imagination") on the 11/8 show. There was also another tune mentioned at the 1 hr 43-44 min mark as another Test Press so maybe Sci Wax Retro will have 4 tunes? Marlon said he had some more test presses he was playing on the next show. I think early 2016 was mentioned also, so there is your time frame.

  • Lixx over 8 years ago

^^ The Dub-One track on Subtle Audio? Yeah that was nice. Dub-One has some really good tunes coming out. I also really love that tune Marlon played after Dub One's Hot Sweat at the 1 hr 18 minute and 43 second mark of the set. Described as pure niceness and "Larry Heard style" what a fucking tune!

After that the Sciwax Retro 7 tune with the Twilight Zone sample was played then around then 1hr 39 minute mark there is a nice bubblin bass tune. Geez just about any track Equinox plays is something that interests me in one way or another. He really covers all my bases musically.
  • damiano. over 8 years ago

Be sure to give feedback on anything Scientific Wax when you can, so the crew knows about it (get in the chatroom!) Tons of tunes at disposal but obviously not unlimited funds so that's why stuff gets sat on for a long time, paying attention to the ones that the fans really seem to go on about. Just a small thing but it helps a great deal, don't think it goes amiss.

See I'm the opposite. I wish everything was on vinyl! I understand your issue with it though (you mentioned back problems before).

I bought an extra copy of that junglemuff, some of those tunes are so atmospherically perfect and I said to myself I'm probably going to want to mix some of those together. That's the only thing with some of these EP's these days. I remember the era of one track per side. With these EP's I'm having to buy 2 copies just to mix some of the tracks. I hope the new Sci Wax releases come one per side or I'll have to do the same thing :(

PS anyone know how to add them to my bandcamp collection? For some reason after I bought them on BC they never showed up as addable to my collection (even though I got the receipt from both paypal and bandcamp) Bandcamp is completely useless with help (no response after a bunch of emails) and I see others have been able to do so.

Don't mean to de-rail the thread but I guess it's kinda on topic, in regards to new releases. I see a lot of reviews on here (90% jungle peeps) on about how they hate this and that for having 2 tracks per side?? Am I missing something here? I don't recall hardly any early-mid 90's releases as 2x 12"...no way. Smack 4 tracks on that thing and move the gain a little, no? Jeez... sorry only said this in regards to you Lixx, when you said 'back in the day we had 1 track per side' and I'm looking at my collection going..."where?" haha. I always felt that was a noughties thing. I just don't see the big deal, I'd rather pay less for more tracks, 90% of them still sound plenty phat enough to me.
  • Lixx over 8 years ago

Lixx edited over 8 years ago
I'm not talking about 2 x 12" packs. Those came about later. Im talking about a single 12" with one track per side which gives you ( depending on proper mix down and mastering) optimal sound quality. I can name thousands of examples, I.e. Every Good Looking record, Basement Street Beats mid nineties, Deejay etc etc No offense to you and perhaps you haven't entered more records into your collection, but you own 4 jungle records before 1995? So how would you know that I'm wrong? I'm not saying there weren't EP's put out with 3 and 4 tracks, I'm just saying, for me- I prefer one track per side.

Also think about it maybe a different way. Say you have an EP with 4 really great tracks and you want to mix maybe one or two of those tracks together? How are you going to do it? All 4 are on one record. You could mix other records in between them but none of those 4 are every going to be played back to back unless you double up on buying two copies.
  • damiano. over 8 years ago

Yeah I've not got the most extensive collection (or knowledge as some of the heads here do, not by a long shot) but lots of older stuff I don't have updated on here, as I go mostly. Anyways, I just think in the case of a lot of these labels now, the amount of time we wait for some killer tunes to come out, I'd rather get 4 at a time, then like you say, wait for 2 tunes on a single 12". As for mixing like that, never really bothered me enough to buy multiples. Just a discussion point cuz I've been hearing it more and more, no offense meant or taken !

Short version - I've been waiting too long for some of these tunes, gimme 4 on 1 I can handle it! :D
  • Tykal49 over 8 years ago

I'd rather have 3/4 tracks too, like some of my favorite Ibiza plates. 3 seems like a decent compromise in the sense that you can put the standout or longer track on one side, and two more bangers on the other. While 2 is good for loudness (can't mix those either), I'd rather have more jungle and more jungle I like: for instance, only 2 of those junglemuff tunes interest me, and I'd bet at least one of them would get dropped if it was a 2-tracker.

There were some 2x12" eps back in the mid 90's. Some records might of had more than one track, but nowhere are they called albums/LPs ( I guess that aspect could be debated). A majority of the 4 track double 12" eps seem to really get popular around 97 and up...and of course went to shit soon after! Here are a few from 96'-94.'

New pre order up on RedEye off Fresh 86. It's a release by Kid Lib this time. Def grabbing up on this.

Thanks for the heads up Skott! Sounds lovely. As well as Kid Lib does ragga influenced sounds I like some of the deeper stuff he's been doing. I suspect at least one of those Junglemuff tunes might be him maybe. Really looking looking forward to that coming in as well!

LOL! I don't see anyone posting shit releases on here ( thanks of course)...though there is PLENTY of it out there!

Not really "new" but Redeye has HATE005 (Hello Darkness/Bad Organs) back in stock. Not my cup of tea but it looks like it sells for quite a bit here on the marketplace.

That kidlib is ruff! Nice one for the heads up d:)
  • evergreensound over 8 years ago

Seba's 'Jungle Music' on Secret Ops. is pretty sweet. Seems to reference Steve C & Monita's 'The Razor's Edge' pretty heavily. Either way, it's that combination of ruff beats and dreamy atmospherics that Seba can do so well.

    SKANNA007 & SKANNA008 RE-ISSUES -

    Out now....

    www.factmag.com/2012/02/13/lost-and-found-skannas-heaven-e-p/

Until 2015 all Skanna masters where believed to be lost to cutting houses, defunct labels and the ravages of time leaving only compilations from the time to fill in the blanks. Until now! Skanna Records in collaboration with Underground Music present two seminal Drum & Bass vinyl reissues, Remastered from Original DAT Masters for digital and Vinyl by Bob Macc @ Subvert Central Mastering.

After two years of hunting, a search of John's parents house finally turned up just one DAT containing pristine original masters from three seminal Skanna EP's. Another chance find at the same time among the archives of DJ Spatts from The Criminal Minds turned up their remix of "The Greatest Thing". The result is three Seminal reissues that sound better then the original pressings, now changing hands for silly money on discogs, if you can find one in playable condition.

Mm, very nice. Mr Jones track reminds me of the jazzy vibe of James Hardway's tunes, which I love.

don't suppose anyone's got a copy of this vinyl 2x LP they'd want to sell

The hand numbered ones were sold out a while back but I think the preorder for the regular edition is still available.

ltd 100 white label run of two Repertoire tunes that never saw vinyl when they first hit the digital stores.

    PRE-ORDER: https://repertoire.bandcamp.com/

    Infest & Quasi - Mercury...
This is a track we signed in our early days back in 2009, when Infest was just starting to make his mark in certain D&B circles. Fresh from his release on Paradox's Outsider compilation "The Age Of Outsiders Vol.2", we quickly snapped up "Mercury" along with "Rising Son" for our third digital release. Fast forward to 2016 we think this one deserves a limited vinyl pressing.

The Law - Emptiness Is Form...
Another tune from 2009, and without doubt Law's darkest solo production; Emptiness Is Form moves like a ninja in the shadows, taking samples from cult flick Ghost Dog, alongside paranoid strings and cutting razor sharp breaks. Paying tribute to the dark atmospheres of Intense and Source Direct, Emptiness Is Form demanded the move from digital to vinyl.

The last limited white label release we did last year sold out way faster than we expected, so don't sleep! As ever the presses are jam packed so we estimate the press will take around 70 days or so.

Includes digital pre-order of Infest & Quasi - Mercury / The Law - Emptiness Is Form. You get 2 tracks now (streaming via the free Bandcamp app and also available as a high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more), plus the complete album the moment it's released

I've teamed up with Kniteforce Records to re-release some of their back catalogue on vinyl. which was all recently remastered. Rather than doing straight represses of old KF releases, I am compiling four track EPs from each Kniteforce artist featuring a selection of their most popular and sought-after tracks. Here's the full details:

    Kniteforce Remastered Volume 1: Luna-C
    A1: Edge Of Madness
    A2: Death Of A Psychopath
    B1: Piano Progression
    B2: I Know U (D'Cruze Remix)

    Pre-orders are now open here:
