Many words has been written about the music, but haven't seen any praising the pressing. Holy damn this is one of the best sounding records I own. Very clear sound, wide soundstage, and great instrument separation. Superb mastering. Last but not least, quiet vinyl.

The pressing sounds absolutely fine with only the lightest hint of surface noise that is typical of any modern pressing; if anything it's comparable in quality to a number of Japanese pressings I own.

More to the point - it's fantastic to finally be able to own this for a somewhat sensible price. The record is presented beautifully with a couple of nice inserts and the disc itself in a nice disco bag. The music itself is definitely ethereal, psychedelic and comes together beautifully for a thoroughly cohesive, unique album, definitely worthy of anyone interested in the more esoteric end of music in 1980s Japan, and 'Fourth World' sonic experimentation. I cannot recommend it enough.

Also worth checking is Aragon (3) - ザ• スタジオワークス The Birth Of Aragon (The Studio Works) which is a record documenting the development of the A3 track 'あやとり (Ayatori)' - you can find a number of tracks from it on the 2014 CD reissue from Victor / Light Mellow's Picks.

Very nice to see that this album has been reissued on both CD and LP. It's a little-known gem.

One or two tracks of this album were used as background music by Joe Frank, during some episodes of his radio program "Work In Progress" back in 1985 and 1986. That's probably where it got most of its air-play here in the United States.

Is there anyone who could give a good English-language translation for the Japanese track titles? Google Translate helps but isn't entirely revealing:

A1 Home path
A2 Horridula
A3 Ayari toya
A4 Ataitavitata
B1 hand notes
B2 force car
B3 Scarecrow
B4 Polaris

:( I'm getting pretty severe surface noise throughout this record. Anyone else?

There is a CD version of "Aragon" on Invitation, VDR-77, and I also hear that there is a 2014 remaster with bonus tracks from "The Birth of Aragon" album. And yes, I'm almost certain that Aragon collaborated with Geinoh Yamashirogumi on their album, "Ecophony Rinne." They are name-checked in the liner notes.

Absolute joy. This album is amazing! Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to find any information about this band on the internet. I heard that some of these musicians went on to collaborate with Geinoh Yamashirogumi! How cool is that, huh? I can't recommend this album highly enough! Listen and fall in love with it. For eternity!
