Tribute albums can be hit and miss, but when the subject is a legendary band like Accept and the label is Nuclear Blast – home to the best metal bands around – you know you’re going to get something good. Their Dio tribute was excellent, their Judas Priest tributes ruled, and sure enough, they do this Accept tribute right.

A Tribute to Accept features an impressive – and diverse – array of bands, including traditional metal bands (Sinner, Steel Prophet, Axxis, Seven Witches, Tarot), power metal bands (Hammerfall, Primal Fear, Grave Digger, Metalium, Pegazus, Sacred Steel), thrash metal bands (Tankard, Sodom), progressive metal bands (Watchtower) and bands on the more extreme end of the spectrum (Atrocity, Therion, Dimmu Borgir). Not all of the covers are home runs, but enough of them are to make this more than worthwhile. Hammerfall, Primal Fear, Tarot and Watchtower in particular steal the show.

If you’re an Accept fan or just a fan of any of the bands involved, A Tribute to Accept is well worth picking up. Sure, some of these songs have since appeared on the individual bands’ albums or collections, but having them all on one disc is very cool.
