Francesco Zappa

Born: Milan, Italy

Italian cellist & composer of the 18th century. Active between 1763 and 1788, he wrote a number of trio sonatas for the Italian court, remaining in some obscurity until the archives of his work were explored by Frank Zappa.

Thanks to the machinations of The Utility Muffin Research Kitchen and The Barking Pumpkin Digital Gratification Consort, Francesco Zappa's works reached a new audience in the 21st century, under the baton of Frank Zappa.
