Grammy Award winning American jazz guitarist and composer, born December 26th, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio. He recorded and played with Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker, was a member of The Billy Cobham / George Duke Band for two years, recorded with Charles Mingus and joined the Gary Burton Quartet, before touring and recording with Miles Davis.

Married to Susan Scofield since 1978 with whom they became parents of Jean Scofield and Evan Scofield (1987-2013).
