Das Ding is Danny Bosten, who was active in the early 1980s releasing his music and friends' music via his own cassette label called Tear Apart Tapes. While studying graphic design in art school, he designed all the tape covers himself. Meanwhile, he recorded his own music as Das Ding. Powerful dark electro, some tracks are quite addictive and danceable while others are more for at home listening enjoyment.

Touche Pas A Mon Tape & Saturday Night Favourites is not the Das Ding of the rest of these.

There seems to be some confusion here, with more than one band using the same name 'Das Ding'. The Das Ding from the 'Kalkulator' cassette and the 'Friends' and 'Transatlantic Overdub' records is not the same 'Das Ding' which appear on the others. This appears to be a German new-wave/rock band, while the former is a one-man Dutch cassette-label electro outfit. I hope there is some way to clear up the confusion inside the database, without cluttering it up even more by adding yet another 'das ding'...
There are more releases by this artist to be added later on.
