US label founded in 1977 by Jack Renner and Robert Woods (2).
Label Code: LC 5307 / LC 05307. See also Telarc Records.
Label known for its audiophile recordings of classical works, also releases jazz and blues. Telarc was one of the first record labels to record digital material and released the first classical digital recording. They started releasing on CD as soon as it was possible, in 1983.
In 1996, Telarc merged with another independent label, Heads Up International. In late 2005 both Telarc and Heads Up were bought by Concord Music Group, Inc..

Distributed by Audio-Technica from its startup in 1978 until February 1983. Since Audio-Technica was the exclusive U.S. distributor, if the box is empty or a different distributor is present, the release is after February 1983. Telarc used Teldec pressing plants for it's vinyl pressings in the late 1970s until early 1980s. Even though they are pressed in Germany, the release country should be US.
