i really don’t hear any issues with this release, the demos themselves are kind of low-fidelity anyway, so i have a hard time believing the pressing is at fault here

What I was looking for in this CD was the full version of Dark Entries DEMO.
That is a very cool take.
Is that tape gone?

Although it is not a stellar pressing, it is absoluely listenable and enjoyable. Mine wasn't warped at all, the bass is very pronounced and all the little details on Bela Lugosi's Dead (the song most people will be buying this release for) are there to be enjoyed. It is far from being an outstanding vinyl production but it is not that bad either.

I can understand the upset on listening to this lp. BTW, Bauhaus productions on majority of release is not fantastic ... The Bela Session is a demo, not real mastering or remastering on that. I am not real objective as I am a Die hard fan but interesting to hear this session. 40 years after to hear Bauhaus at its beginning is real appreciable.

This CD is superb! The sound quality is great and this Digipak edition is really neat with the cool band photo. The remastered title song and "Bite My Hip" worth the price alone but the other throwaways are fun as well.

I wasn't expecting much, and got something not worth keeping that was sent back directly. Warped record, awful flat sound, absolutely uninteresting demos, useless packaging... pay the extra and get any of the old presses (even the colour ones sound great!), you won't regret any cent...

Bought a copy from the US Bandcamp for about £40/£50 once all charges have been paid for the white vinyl version. I haven't opened it. Saw one for sale in HMV for £18 and was a bit annoyed as it had the white vinyl sticker. Bought it but when I opened it it was black so took it back for a refund.

I also ended up with black instead of white. I wouldn't have minded it so much, but I could have paid a lot less for an actual black copy instead of being deceived into thinking that it was going to be white.

Ouufff! Same thing happened to me. Sticker says "white", the vinyl is black. Nice poster.

I was expecting the worst, given the reports below, but I'm enough of a fan to buy this anyway. I wasn't too disappointed, having played this now. Sure, the title track doesn't have the dynamics, body and spaciousness of the original French pressing. But, let's face it, what reissue does? Pretty much all reissues from analogue tape have magnetic flux fade, print-through, drop-outs etc. However, it also doesn't have the noise repeatedly ground into the several originals I've owned. This was a popular track with goths, so of course it was caned back in the day. It is really hard to find a minty original now, which is why there is a reissue market. So I'm personally not too unhappy with this version of the song, even though I am usually a first edition kind of person. The "Bela Session" songs, on the other hand, are pretty ropey; no wonder they didn't make it to "In the Flat Field" or any of the other albums. "Bite my hip" is kinda catchy, but the rest are fairly standard late 70s/early 80s dubby rock that is lacking in atmosphere and forgettable.
