Recensioni
- This is essentially the soundtrack album* to the (now highly regarded) low budget film noir “Blast Of Silence” (1961). I don’t know whether Kupferman recorded this and Sam Fox licensed to the film producers, or if he wrote it for the film and then got a deal with Fox to attempt to license it to other potential clients. He is listed in the film credits, which makes me think it was written first as the film score. Either way it’s great, an exemplary Crime/Chamber/Progressive Jazz recording; its downbeat disonance matches the cold, dreary look and feel of the film perfectly. Sound quality is excellent.
* it does not included the 2 Dean Sheldon beatnick tracks featured in the Village Gate sequence
