Recensioni
- 10/10 for the high fashion, acid goth album design, first of all. Does the music live up to it? Kind of, here and there. This is not Patty's best, but it has moments that are her among her best. She's backed here by Cyan and Paolo Ormi doing the orchestration on many of the tracks. "The Day That My Love Went Away," written by Patty and Cyan in English, is bitesized, but one of the most extraordinarily dramatic and moody pieces she ever recorded. Whether or not "Motherless Child" is an appropriate song for her to sing, it's also a unique moment. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the record is hit or miss, with covers running a gamut of good (the Mogul/Backy penned rendition of the Lennon/McCartney song And I Love Her, "La Tua Voce," among the best) to middle-of-the-road, late 60s Bacharach fare. It's a good record if you're a Pravo fan, but if you're looking for the entry point, that's still Pazza Idea, a far more consistent, and consistently interesting, record that hits all of the high notes this record does many times over.
