I changed my previous review. Favorites songs are Kunst, Quake, and Next Big Thing.

KMFDM are back with their latest release, Kunst, which showcases and angrier slimmed down version of the band. This time we see KMFDM acting basically as a 3 piece (if not being truly a Sascha solo album), with Sascha, Jules and Lucia making the bulk of the album with only a few minor contributions from some other guests. One of these guests is the Swedish "Industrial" metal band, The Morlocks, on the track "The Mess You Made". Sure there are the traditional "fun" KMFDM songs on the album as "Kunst" name drops previous KMFDM songs but overall this is an angry album. It definitely continues the metal trajectory that Sascha has been taking KMFDM to lately. He even tries a few new tricks as the "Next Big Thing" has layers of noise attached to it. I will say that “The Next Big Thing" reminded me of the Peter Murphy/KMFDM collaboration on the Recall EP as William Wilson displays the same vocal range as the "godfather of goth". Kunst is very heavy album that will fit in nicely with your KMFDM catalog and comes highly recommended.---Reviews are originally done for Grave Concerns E-zine
