Third World War

Way back around 1986 I used to drink in a pub where the landlord was pretty knowledgable about music. He knew I worked at the local radio station and we used to chat about bands n stuff.

He used to go on about a record he had that he called 'the first ever punk record' by a band called Third World War. "Never heard of em" I said. He said he didn't know the exact date but it must be early 70s because one track was called 'Teddy Teeth Goes Sailing' (Edward Heath being British prime minister 70 - 74. He was also a keen yachtsman).

This took place years before Discogs, or indeed the internet, so it was hard to find out info on obscure bands. I found the bootleg comp of the first two albums a few years back and was able to confirm the details given to me decades before. Sorry I was sceptical Mr Landlord sir,

The music is pretty rough n ready rock. Reminds me bit of hackensack, another fairly obscure UK band from the 70s. The political lyrics are the icing on the cake. Good stuff.

Great rough sounding rock with some Hardrock Tendencies. No weak track is in this Album - really a cult record!
