The film was released in American in October 1957 and only in July 1958 in Italy.
The single is presented on the attachment "Tutti i dischi editi in Italia" of "MUSICA e DISCHI (nr. 137 of december 1957, pg. 38bis), in the list of new releases of "RCA Italiana".
The first cover is the standard edition with Elvis standing at the mike (december 1957).
The second cover is the standard edition with Elvis seen in profile with a guitar, on ayellow background (february-march).
The third cover is the standard edition with photographed in studio, with lateral red band (april-may).
On all these covers, if the title of the film appears, there is "Jailhouse Rock".
The first wording of the Italian title of the film appears in the EP (EPA 4114), printed by "Bimospa" only in April 1958 not advertised before the film's release (not even after, due to the limited success in Italy of the film, which remained only in the restricted circle of fans - in the programming of the 1958-59 season, which begins in October, the title disappeared).
There's a limited red vinyl-label version released with plain RCA cover, distributed only during the 'opening' of the movie.
The standard cover with photographed in studio, with lateral red band and the Italian title of the film is part of the 10,000 copies printed without writing in April and used later with the insertion of the writing.
The bonus photo, inside, with listed on rear the Italian RCA catalog available, reports the LP (LPM 1707) presented on the attachment " Tutti i dischi editi in Italia" of "MUSICA e DISCHI (nr. 144 of june 1958, pg. 26), in the list of new releases of "RCA Italiana"; the presence on the market the new releases normally happen place the following month (with the exception of the songs present in singing events or in the imminence of the Christmas holidays that could be present simultaneously due to delays of organization)

Can anyone help me identify the date of release of my version of this record please? its a black label version as opposed to the 'Elvis blue' or orange label releases the matrix's are; RCA 2695 A-2U 4 Boppin' Bob 1 and RCA 2695 B-2U G < De Lane Lea> 1
