I experience no "distortion" whatsoever. Beautiful recording; wide open and clear.

Five-star pressing and package. Music, four stars. Side 1 is great! But IMHO the momentum drops off a cliff on side 2 (tracks 1 and 2) but then McLean's Hootnan is outstanding. Overall, good album, but not his best.

Great album. Yes the tick on B2 mentioned on the back cover is minor. The problem at 7 minutes in is more noticeable - only in left channel I think so possibly a connection issue?? Also some very brief dropouts in the first one and a half minutes on that track. Also have what I assume to be the Europe 2004 edition that does not have these issues but which also has vastly different sound.

This is cut very hot 🔥 soundstage is amazing. . Joe and Kevin are really putting out audiophile pressings. We are hearing close of the masters. Thanks Blue Note team

Wow, I love this record, very atmospheric, perfect for a rainy Sunday or late night listen. The Vibes really give this record that shimmery quality and a slight melancholic feel. Great drumming from Billy Higgins. This and Destination Out are my favorite Tone Poets they've put out of Jackie's led sessions. Looking forward to Jack Knife which is up there for me. I'd be hard pressed to pick out an absolute favorite McLean album though, there's too many gems in his catalogue. I'll buy every one.

Well, Plight turned out to be the real plight here. Never experienced any issues with the recent KG's Blue Notes, but this one is a bummer. The record itself is fantastic of course, Jackie is genius.

I’m an unabashed McLean fan and this is a great addition to my collection.
Not his best but plenty of engaging moments with his trademark tone colouring the recording.
The “tic” mentioned in the disclaimer on the back cover is quite mild and I probably wouldn’t have paid much attention to it if I wasn’t listening for it….
One or two moments of mild surface noise on my copy but nothing that really bothers me enough to seek a replacement.
