Singers & Players – War Of Words

Great LP with a lot of mixing going on! Really dubby although most vocals are still in the mix.

Bim Sherman's "Revolution" from his On-U:LP is presented here in a longer version with a totally different mix where the horns have been removed, leaving space for some great harmony vocals instead (from Ari-Up among others). Incredibly heavy!

The vocal presence of Prince Far I is excellent and works really well alongside the tracks of Bim Sherman's sweet singing.

The changes in tonality/key of "91 Vibration" bothered me at first listen but now I like it... In dubwise terms, maybe this album's peak.

Not a bad track here really which is quite rare for a reggae LP. Or any LP for that matter...

Wicked roots with a heavy uk-sound! This is a classic album from the music-collective Singers and Players it wont get better than this. Rhytms laid by some of the musicians from the Arabs and Roots radics. Classic tune called world of dispensation with Bim Sherman and some great toasting by Prince Far-I. This is reggae in its own way nothing actually sounds alike accept from other releases from the same artists. This is a must in any collection.
