The Pretty Things – Emotions

There is something suspicious about this release: the laminated cover and heavy weight vinyl do not give the impression of a 50 year old record. Sounds analytical and not like a 1972 mastering. But, sounds very nice and wasn’t very expensive so I can’t complain.

The material here isn't as bad as it's made out to be. I quite enjoy it.

Besides my taste, the original stereo pressing on Fontana sounds superb. Full, punchy, dynamic, as close to audiophile quality as a mid 60's album could possibly be. I've read some good reviews of the '78 Dutch reissue. Wonder how it stands up to this one?

This 70s reissue sounds very good. Perhaps a bit on the bright side, but definitely not complaining. Also not my favorite 60s PTs album, but it's essential for any completist, and to be honest, there are still some good songs here. Remove the mid-60s pop orchestration and a R&B garage band still exists under the layers. "My Time" is also a wonderful album closer and looks forward to where the band would go with future singles and albums!

My copy does not have a laminated sleeve, and the labels are slightly different.

A transitional album. The Pretty Things were moving away from the blues rock they initially built their careers on, but they had not yet evolved into the psychedelic rock band they were on the classic “S.F. Sorrow”.

But there are some nice songs here. I, for one, enjoy the softer moments, like “House of Ten” and “Growing In My Mind”.

sounds clean and transparent, very good dynamic! you make no mistake if you give this version a try!

sad to hear the lead singer phil may has passed the pretty things & electric banana had some great moments & the lead singer was a great lead singer so im showing respect to a fine original band.that didnt really get the due respect because their hits dried up but they delivered where it was most important in their music.rip phil but in music terms the pretty,s will get to live forever & they have earned it by being creative & using their talent also they were many famous bands choice of a great original band...

The rare golden disc edition inside with catchy tracks to listen!

Despite being marked as mono, this edition actually contains the stereo mix.

Great sounding press, highly recommended and not as hard to find as originals.
