Taj Mahal – Recycling The Blues & Other Related Stuff

I’m not too particularly big on live albums. But, that classic Taj Mahal sound and cool tracks. Definitely make this a pretty good snag.

This album is incredible. A tour-de-force by Taj. Great performances, great recording, and a fine pressing.

Side one may be from Winterland, November 5 or 6, 1971 opening for Van Morrison.

one of the GOATS. In addition to this, get this particular pressing if you want to hear one of THE BEST masterings of an old bluesman getting personal with his mic and guitar. no joke.

Recycling The Blues is a pretty laid back album. The first side (live) shows off several different sides of Taj's interests - from blues, to soul, to more traditional elements of African music. The second side (studio) also has The Pointer Sisters backing him up. It's all very pleasant. No real complaints, though nothing really stands out here either. But it's kind of a fun album to put on at times.

Did all copies come in the infamous RTI pink inner sleeves? Both records have the start of the markings from those inner sleeves. I just opened it and have not cleaned these yet to listen. Fair warning to open your copy and replace the inners.
