This is a seriously brilliant album, and one that is ticking pretty much all of my soundtrack/library boxes. The entire album is centred around a space theme - including a lovely sleeve featuring a photo from the Apollo 11 mission. You get titles referring to all things space. The opening cut with its mission control voice samples, majestic church organ, psychedelic electronic effects and huge, kinda funky drums completely floored me the first time I heard it. It's a very diverse album, too. There are wordless Edda Dell'Orso vocals that are reverberating into the outer regions of space, big, lush strings, spacey lap steel, piano treated with Leslie, and even a pop version of Strauss' "Blue Danube" waltz. My only small complaint is the lack of some more electronic and experimental parts which would fit the theme of the album perfectly. If you don't mind your space music being a bit too easy listening at times, getting a copy of this one is a no-brainer and the recent Schema reissue sounds great. Highly recommended!
