Personal Preferences:
· Entering credits the way they appear on the release (globally if listed globally, or track-by-track if listed that way). This makes them much easier to check/verify.
· Entering the entire matrix string for CDs, including logos, in one line, if that's how it appears on the CD. Breaking it up into separate bits, or editing out parts of it makes it more difficult to match yours to the one on the screen. Example: ['UNIVERSAL' logo] IFPI L009 B00 010 3212 01$ L
· Using the entire front cover image, including packaging (but not price tags) for the primary image. (This applies mostly to CDs, where the front insert by itself is often used as the primary image, and 8-track tapes, where the cartridge is sometimes cropped out.)
· Using the actual name of a company, and notating other name variations as credited
· Following the drop-down menu order of company roles and BaOI. Not that it matters, but it is faster/easier to find things when they are always in the same place, and there is some logic to the way they are sorted/grouped.
· Using "·" bullets for lists (instead of "-" dashes)
· Doing the correct thing, even if it isn't the easy thing
· Your lists of 'Bands I've Seen Live' or 'My Christmas CDs' should be private. This isn't relevant to anyone but you.
Rules I Don't Agree With:
· Using only their real names when adding artists to a group, when the artist only uses an alias in that group. For example:
Declan Patrick Aloysius Macmanus is a member of Elvis Costello & The Attractions, but Elvis Costello is not. And Ringo Starr is not a member of Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band.
· Any rules that are applied inconsistently for convenience
