- Edited 19 years agoKlone Records are the vault keepers of a dying style of music, and they should be congratulated for doing so. The entirety of 1970's and 1980's underground euro dance music was of this nature, and only the mainstream hits produced by the likes of Giorgio Moroder and co, found any acceptabilty. Klone Records have survived through the 1990's when other more 'acceptable' labels fell by the wayside, so they must be doing something right. Take for example KLONE 15 - Suns Of Shiva "Hills Of Katmandu" which if not released, would not have been sampled again and again in late 1990's US house music. Another exmaple is Jackie Clune's amazing cover version of The Carpenters "Close To You" (CDKLONE 52). If you have never heard Jackie sing live or heard this record played in gay dance clubs, then you have never experienced the soul of Karen Carpenter brought to life again. Hurrah for Klone Records!
