Third Man Pressing

Profile:

Vinyl pressing plant created by Third Man Records, located within Third Man Records Cass Corridor in Detroit, MI.
Opened in February of 2017.

"TMR releases manufactured at TMP will often have this text on the center label art, "Manufactured at Third Man Pressing in Detroit, MI." Sometimes, in addition to the print, the runout groove may include "TMP" as well. This attribute is more dependent upon the specific project but we do try to include the TMP logo or the text on our center labels for all TMR releases we work on in Detroit."

Consistently off-center pressings on the Verve By Request series and one of the 313 Blue Note titles. Their product is nearly on the level of MRP and IRP for lack of QC

One of the most awful pressing plants today that reminds me Rainbo Records or worse than it.
The LP vinyl reissues released on Verve By Request pressed by this company prove it obviously.

This plant is generally doing a good job, if my small sample size is anything to go by. The one issue I have run into is LPs being warped. This is likely either due to records being shoved in the jacket before they are fully cooled cooled and/or overly tight shrink wrap. The last record I got that was pressed here had death grip shrinkwrap that was pretty tough to remove and the record was dished. I wish this plant would ditch that shrink wrap and move over to a looser bag style packaging like QRP and RTI often use. That would possibly eliminate this problem. Other than that the quality is better than the garbage tier U.S. plants but Third Man Pressing still has some kinks to work out.

Can anyone comment on the pressing quality for these releases? I expect they should sound quite good considering they're coming from a brand new pressing plant.
