From Prototype Recordings Facebook page: Thanks for the overwhelming support so far. We'll be making announcements on the digital re-release of our back catalogue over the coming weeks.

Grooverider's Prototype Recordings was a landmark of Drum and Bass and a deeper and harder approach. Over its run, there were huge releases like Sonar by Trace and China Cup by Bad Company. These went on to spread appreciation for our genre, and to allow many more artists influenced by what they heard to break through and bring us their own individual interpretations of what Drum & Bass is about.
A stand out moment for Prototype was when it caught the eye of none other than musical aficionado John Peel. He played Alien Girl by ER & O & Fierce on his Radio 1 show, spreading it to a national audience and championing other releases in collaboration with the Rider. Never afraid to back a new genre, Peel spent many years playing lesser known and some completely unknown Jungle tracks from other labels and by unsigned artists. Without turning this into a tribute to the man, his shows consisted of a fair few releases on Prototype in the late 90's, and to me that's something to be grateful for.
To sum up, Prototype was definitely a stand out moment of Drum & Bass, and a label with such a deep catalogue and so much to offer, I'm glad to have heard on the grapevine that it MAY be coming back.

Obviously "Deenis" never heard "Feeling Up" by Photek.
Like he says "Grooverider only put out the VERY best stuff, no filler " Total Crap

Its a great Pity Photek signed Feeling up & Flavour of a sound to this label. because for some crappy reason Grooverider never released them. lost forever.

A legendary label which was founded by non-other than Grooverider himself. Half the 12"s on this label are straight/up jungle classics! And the other half is just as good too, for those who may not have heard it. Amazing is the quality control on this label too: 20 releases over a span of 10 years: Grooverider only put out the VERY best stuff, no filler.
SO many crucial junglist essentials:
"Planet Dust" a tune so classic, we've probably all heard it
"Moving 808s" a flawlessly produced techstep masterpiece
"Alien Girl" classic Ed-Op action
"Still / Urban Space" one of the most interesting DnB 12"s I've ever heard
"Killamanjaro" some good 'ol "No U-Turn" gangsta techstep
Also: Some very excelent ragga jungle on the one-off 12" on Hard Step Records, the sub-label.
I Garuntee quality from the entirety of the Prototype catalog ...except maybe the Drumsound & Simon Smith record, that one is shit.
