- just for avoidance of doubt, PMG definitely changed to Everland to avoid the bad press about them ripping off artists - I bought something from PMG from bandcamp once and I get notifications from Everland now when they release something saying it's because I bought that release, they just changed their name on BC
There was a great podcast somewhere that covered it, roughly the accusations go that PMG pay only small flat fees to artists for the rights to their music and not royalties (many of them now living in financial uncertainty) - Steve Black is their employee and connection who locates the artists and negotiates the payment inside Africa - they respond to interview on the podcast but it's not very believable. If someone has the link please post, though maybe removed by now
