dualpLOVER was created in 1995 by Lucas Abela to promote gigs in Sydney, Australia and became a label the next year when he self released his debut CD A Kombi - Music To Drive-By. He teamed up with Swerve (7) later in 1996 to release the labels 2nd album by Alternahunk. Together they created www.dualplover.com consolidated CD pressing in 1997.

The partnership dissolved in 2011 and Lucas now runs the label and Swerve runs the CD/DVD replication business under the name Cardboard Robot Creative Services aka www.cardboardrobotcreative.com.

dualpLOVER is the literal English translation of the Japanese words for double-ended dildo.

If their really is such thing as the ultimate record label, then this would have to be it. An Australian record company run, owned and operated entirely by screwballs, for screwballs, DualPlover has truly got everything. Anachronistic superstars, outlandish experimentalists, bizzarro big-names, and bands that I can only describe by name have all shared the title of getting signed on by Lucas Abela, himself the most brilliant wakkaroo the world (no, really, he's toured in Beirut, Germany, Korea, and Lisboa among other countries) has ever seen. Every one of this label's releases has its own off-kilter charm, ranging from Dokaka, master of the a cappela, to A Kombi, a noisemaking Volkswagen that could outperform entire netlabels(and I have proof). Ultimately, these recordings are all love-it-or-hate-it, but give one a try and you're bound to love the rest.
