- In Japan Philips records were released on Epic label until 1960. The Philips label was introduced in 1961 by Victor/JVC and in 1970 Nippon Phonogram Co., Ltd. was established. Unlike Polydor it was a JVC/Matsushita(Panasonic) company and its releases looked very different than Polydor(Nippon Grammophon) releases.
