Voodoo Music

Voodoo Music

Profile:
"Voodoo is a musical tropical rain-forest populated by exotic tribes who like to dance the night away and have fun."
Raiden, 2011.

Voodoo Music was initially set up as a vehicle for warm tropical music after an inspirational South American tour where Raiden spent a month with OrtoKore in Caracas, Venezuela where he introduced Raiden to the vast world of Latin music.

Soon after returning Raiden met Morphy and were totally on the same page, became good friends and Voodoo became an extension of both of them.

Beginner of dub/tribal movement in drum & bass.
Created by techno-dnb pioneer Raiden in 2010 when things in the scene began to change. It was a good period for innovations and dub/tribal influenced sounds successfully replaced techno and darkstep substyles of drum & bass. It was a short period until 2012 when whole drum & bass music began to fade away absorbed by lots of new 140 bpm bass music styles.

Definitely good label if you looking for exotic vibes and something unusual. Vinyl releases is worth to buy. VOOMUSIC004 is masterpiece and probably the best moment in short life of this innovative label.
