Record company and distributor. May also be used for other roles if "Zomba Records" is credited.

A distributor and head of a group of independent labels, most notably Jive. The Zomba group was dissolved in 2009 and rebranded as the Jive Label Group, one half of the RCA/Jive Label Group.

With the acquisition of Pinnacle Publishing (UK) it got hold of Rough Trade Germany with its lucrative distribution deals for Germany. The name Rough Trade was eventually abandoned in favour of that of the mother company.

In 2002, Zomba Recording Corporation was acquired by the Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG).

Between 2004 and 2008, the newly restructured Zomba Label Group was part of Sony BMG Music Entertainment when those two companies merged. In 2008, when Sony bought the remaining stake in BMG, Zomba became a sublabel of Sony Music Entertainment.
