I haven't listened to anything from Drumcode for a long time and I didn't want to believe what it says here... trance tracks on Drumcode??? Unfortunately it's true. Absolutely mediocre same sounding tracks. Terrible. The label has gone downhill rapidly with the quality of techno. Tracks from different producers sound incredibly similar, same rhythmics, similar hi-hats... And most of the tracks have vocal samples... Unspeakable rhythmic babble. Trance sounds and tinkles... Ugh! I used to buy records from Drumcode a long time ago, but that time is gone. The Swedish cult label didn't deserve this.

I heard recently Adam Beyer's show on Drumcode radio I think they call it. I had to double check if I'm not hearing Tomorrowland or some Sensation White shit, so far it has drifted from initial concept. I salute Drumcode's evolution and hope that it will progress even further with Adam Beyer starting doing collabs and mashups with Busta Rhymes, Kanye, Madonna and the likes especially the latter because i heard that she's especially hip and in demand and as relevant as ever. I would also like to see and hear Adam Beyer occasionally screaming "put your effing hands up" through the headset during his live shows. I think this innovation would be great for business eh.

I know I might sound controversial and could get plenty of replies, but is it me or does the hate for Adam Beyer and his label feels similar to the hate for Vivienne Medrano (Vivziepop)?

As the non-mainstream Trance fan (JOOF etc) I like the turn the Drumcode label made in circa 2018, when Melodic Techno banged all over the worlds dancefloors.

Label owner and rave veteran A.Beyer saw that there's no more chance to combine audience expectations and business goals, with that old dissonant percussive Techno sound. The world audience moved in the Trance direction, so did the Techno genre itself by its Melodic subgenre, so did the Techno and business veteran A.Beyer.

Nowadays his Drumcode label releases don't include neither that raw Techno dissonant vibe, nor Melodic Techno progressions, but still do their Techno job by less percussive (yet still bangy) and more synthy and tonally advanced Techno.

Some of the releases now can fit adult underground Trance dj-mix, in the way that some underground Trance tracks can perfectly fit any Drumcode dj-mix.

          Good job well done!

i just have one thing to say to this label, and its "What the fuck happened". 1996-2006 was perfect, everything was great with this label, it started going downhill around late 2006 and has since become a mediocre & basic techno label that doesn't really appeal to any classic techno fan nowadays,

I wouldn't mind DC if every track didn't sound the same.

Drumcode is a fine label. Ive grown out of it years ago, predictable sounds and structure. Its all very well made and perfect for someone whos new to techno or cant handle a mind twist. Its a starting point before you knock yourself into 140bpm+ mind twisters.
90s and 00s catalog is wicked good.
Don't hate the label for being your starting point to another drum rich dimension.
