Blast First

A UK label that specialized in licensing American Noise Rock bands for the British market. It also signed Free Jazz and Avant Garde performers from various countries. Originally set up with support from Rough Trade, it later became a sub-label of Mute Records. Run by Paul Smith with help from sisters Pat Naylor and Liz Naylor. Smith also runs a completely independent label called Blast First Petite for titles that he likes but Mute's corporate distributors choose not to release.
