Goa trance label based in UK, founded by Ron Rothfield, aka Raja Ram in 1994.

TIP Records became an influential label in the history of goa trance. TIP was amongst the first to embrace a darker sound in goa trance and the techtrance sound (Organic Noise) before the label folded in 1998 after the collapse of their distributor Flying Records (UK).
The label reappeared under the new name of TIP.World in 1999, with a relatively new artist roster, new distributor and new electro and breaks sub label 10 Kilo.

TIP Records relaunched in November 2009 and is currently based in London, UK.

Like many Goa related things this began to stink after the change of millenia.
Very early stuff still is a joy to listen such as hallucinogen, green nuns, orichalcum and infinity project. Although i like the label i can say i dont need a single of their releases to be happy in Goa Land. For those that crave the underground sound theres nothing to look in here.

Simply the best goa/psy trance label of the 1990s. TIP managed (and still manages) to combine the psychadelic mood of the genre with pulsating, powerful beats and rhythms that some early 'goa' trance releases lacked. Classic tracks such as X-Dream's 'Panic in Paradise' and 'Stimuli' by The Infinity Project (which - incidentally - gives the label its name) still sound fresh and innovative today, and were often dropped by big-name DJs as the killer tracks in more mainstream sets. TIP's colourful sleeves were initially hand painted and the 'indian woman's head' design reflects the bold, upfront, no-nonsense style of music they champion. I have too many favourite tracks from the TIP stable to mention and was always amazed how each release sounded fresh and pushed the sound and genre forward. Trancey, Independent and Pure!
