430 West Records is an independent record label based in Detroit, MI USA formed in 1990 by Lawrence Burden, Lenny Burden, and Lynell Burden just months after recording their debut record for Derrick Mays' Transmat label. 430 West was formed as an outlet for the Burden Brothers' own productions (recording as Octave One, Random Noise Generation, Never On Sunday, and Metro D). Later it was expanded to be the home for releases by electronic music artists: Jay Denham, Terrence Parker, Eddie Fowlkes, Aux 88, Wild Planet, Gerald Mitchell to name a few. In 1998, 430 West also became the musical home for the trio's youngest brothers Lance Burden and Lorne Burden.

As of 2000, 430 West functions as a production company and record label, focusing once again on the work of the Burden Brothers. The company has distribution, licensing, and promotion relationships in North America, Europe, United Kingdom, and Japan.

Two decades+ of discogs and not a single comment about this seminal label? Bizarre.

430 West takes its name from the address of the original studio on 430 West 8 mile road in Detroit.
Founded by the triple L Burden brothers, it was the natural progression of their producing talents after landing their epic "I believe' track on Transmat and the legendary Techno 2 Detroit compilation.

I find 430 West one of the most interesting labels out of Detroit as it has been able to put amazing Techno as well as House.
It was also a launching pad for other "label-less" artists but it's mostly the home for the Burden brothers output.
A bit like Axis, 430 West has no bad stuff really and at the same time it is somewhat frustrating for a completist, since the catalog is quite vast and there is always the impossible odd release.
