Founded in 1958 as Sunset Sound Recorders by Tutti Camarata, and used exclusively for Disney productions until 1962, when the studio began booking external clients. The studio was built in a building that was previously an auto repair shop. Later, due to demand, a former restaurant space next door was purchased, and the studio expanded to three rooms. In 1984, the legendary Studio One was renovated with a new custom crafted 68 channel digital logic controlled console - featuring Neve/NECAM automation. It was designed and built by Sunset Industries. The studio manager at the time was Craig Hubler.
