Good Earth Studios

Good Earth Studios image
Profile:

Recording studio located in London, UK.
Active 1973 - 1989. Owned by Tony Visconti.
Sometime printed on release simply as Good Earth.

Very much the creation of producer Tony Visconti, Good Earth Studios was set up at 59 Dean Street in 1977 when Tony bought an existing studio called Zodiac. He previously had a small studio in Shepherds Bush but needed a large premises.
It had a particularly large control room from day one, this was a split level room with the highest level behind the engineers position at the desk allowing "spectators" to get a clear view of proceedings in the main studio area.
The studio itself was an L-shaped room of 582 sq ft incorporating two isolation booths. A Steinway grand piano was a permanent fixture in the studio area.
The studio was sold on to music production company "Joe & Co" in 1989. Then since August 2007 it has been run as "Dean St. Studios".
