United Artists Records, Inc.

US record company that was established in 1957. It was the parent company of the United Artists Records label. The company was acquired in May 1967 by Transamerica Corporation and absorbed into the group. After a major restructuring, United Artists Records Inc. was re-established in February 1971 when re-named from Liberty/UA, Inc. In September 1974 it was succeeded by United Artists Music And Records Group, Inc.
