Recording Corporation Of New Zealand


A trading subsidiary of Radio Corporation Of New Zealand Ltd., a publicly owned Wellington manufacturing company founded in 1928 by William Marks, a Russian émigré. They made radios and later radiograms, selling them in its own chain of stores around the country, the Columbus Radio Centres, and in other retail outlets. Their showcase product was the Columbus valve radio.

Recording Corporation Of New Zealand was created in 1948 to oversee the Tanza label owned by the company. In 1956 it was folded into the parent.
