French label founded by Henri Screpel, the first recording took place in 1940: Mozart Concerto pour clarinette.
In 1954, composer Antoine Duhamel became the artistic director, notably for recordings by Yves Nat, Marcelle Meyer and Lili Kraus.
Went bankrupt in 1958 and was bought by Ducretet Thomson.
The catalog was sold to Pathé Marconi EMI in the 1970s

The label was affiliated with the Belgian label Alpha (34). They have a similar logo and a number of recordings have appeared on both labels.

For some time, the label was represented in the US by Vox and in Italy by RCA Italiana
