Dağhan Baydur, the founder and chairman of Muzikotek began his musical career in 1962 when he formed his first band. After representing Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1978 as a singer with his composition "Sevince", he moved to England in order to further pursue his music. While in London, working within the heart of the music business he was introduced to the concept of Library Music. Once he noticed what the "Audio Visual" sector in Turkey was lacking he founded Muzikotek and began his work concerning Music Publishing including Library Music.
Although Music Publishing began seriously functioning at the beginning of the 1900's, the very first Music Library was founded in 1955 by Patrick Howgill. That library was made up of 25 vinyl discs of 78" and cost £5000.
Muzikotek with a well deserved respectable place on the international publishing platform, represents almost 40% of the international works. Our Music Libraries that are updated almost everyday currently stand at approximately 5000 CD's and 400.000 tracks.
Entering into the year 2007, meant Muzikotek had behind it 20 years of hard, dedicated work since it was founded in 1986 as a Limited Company. The next 20 years will be equally covered by our qualified team who will carry on working harder in order to provide you with great music and an even better service.
