EMI Classics

Profile:

EMI Classics was a classical music label, introduced in April 1991 as EMI's new worldwide classical music brand. It replaced the Angel and His Master's Voice (Dog & Trumpet) trademarks, which however kept being used in some territories.

In 2007, the EMI Group Plc restructured its labels, with EMI Classics becoming part of the UK Angel Music Group operation.

In 2013, following Warner Music Group's acquisition of Parlophone Label Group (formed for the divestment of former ultimate owner EMI Group Ltd.), EMI Classics became part of Warner Classics.
After the acquisition, a lot of the former EMI Classics releases were reissued on Warner Classics / Erato.
