In the beginning there was a Black Mark Label sub-company in 1984 for a parent company Tyfon Grammofon AB.
The initiator of the creation of the sub-company was Börje Forsberg.
The existence of the Black Mark Label began with the release of Bathory - Bathory.

Börje Forsberg established Black Mark Production in 1991 as an extreme metal label releasing a variety of mainly European bands.

From 1991 until the late nineties, the label's headquarter was located in Berlin, Germany. After that, they moved back to Sweden - the label now operates from the Villa Hammerheart in Bruzaholm.

The year 2001 brought changes in the company. The record company Black Mark AB was created, thus the company logo was changed to Black Mark "Metal for the World" and the label code number was changed to LC 06201: Black Mark (3)
The company Black Mark AB has been resuming its releases under the new name to this day.
