Trattoria

Profile:

Trattoria is a defunct Japanese record label, established in the early nineties by Keigo Oyamada (Cornelius) and active till circa 2000, named after Mike Alway's nickname. Trattoria produced over 200 original albums and CD/LP/tape compilations by various Japanese pop-electronica/ mellow / fusion, lounge / easy listening bands and performers. The label is currently owned by Polystar, an international group of independent record labels. In the past, Trattoria used to distribute CD released for Yamatsuka Eye's, controversial Japanese vocal performer, improviser and experimenter, founder of cult bands Hanatarash and Boredoms, label Shock City. Apart from Shock City, Trattoria handled ten more sub-labels and release series, including Think About The Future '99, Prego!, Mo' Music, Trattoria Family Club (reissuing personal favorites by Bill Wyman, The Free Design, J.R. Bailey, Tracie Young and Yasuharu Konishi and several compilations titled Love The Reason and Respond 12" Single Collection), [Invalid Label] with three 7" split singles produced by Cornelius vs Hideki Kaji, Salon Music / Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her and Papas Fritas / Citrus, and Trattoria E.P. Series for CDEP singles.

Most of the label's artists were picked by Felicity label, and Trattoria's current roster is limited to Keigo Oyamada himself and French singer-songwriter Louis Philippe.
