Somewhere In Detroit

Somewhere In Detroit

Profile:
Somewhere In Detroit (aka SID, for short), is a sublabel of Underground Resistance.

It's first seven releases were only available through Submerge's "Somewhere In Detroit" store featuring previously unreleased tracks by Drexciya, Underground Resistance, and other Detroit artists. The idea was that the only way you could get them was to physically visit the shop on the ground floor of Submerge's building (at that time located at 2030 W. Grand River Ave.; now found at 3000 E. Grand Blvd.).
It was then followed by sublabel Local 3000 and then resurrected in 2006 for the release of the "Interstellar Fugitives 2 - Destruction Of Order" compilation.

Fantastic stuff - I'd heard about them from the Rub A Dub guys and it took me several trips to Submerge before they (Mike Banks and Rolando) would sell me the whole set. To be honest the only true S.I.D's are the first 5 - the other two ended up getting distributed round the world.
